On this two-day tour, we will visit the "Wonder of the Western World," the Gothic abbey of Mont-Saint-Michel, as well as explore the landing beaches and emblematic D-Day sites of Normandy.
Day 1: The Medieval Marvel
We begin with a drive to Mont-Saint-Michel, where we will climb the 250 steps to the summit. This ascent rewards us with sweeping views of the bay and the dramatic English Channel tides. We will spend the day exploring the historic monastery, the fortified ramparts, and the narrow, winding streets of the medieval village.
Day 2: The Heroes of Normandy
After an overnight stay in charming Bayeux, we will spend the day reliving the history of WWII. We start at the battlefield of La Pointe du Hoc, where numerous bomb craters still scar the landscape. We then move to Omaha Beach, retracing the steps of the courageous US soldiers who secured a beachhead on the most hostile seashore of D-Day. Lastly, we will pay our respects to the thousands of heroes buried at the beautiful Normandy American Cemetery.
